Spoils Events Schedule

 

Friday:

 

12pm - Spoils Booster Draft – Seed & Seed 2 - $10

Registration runs 11 am – 11:50 am. Play begins at 12:00 pm.

Players will open and draft 2 packs of Seed and 1 pack of Seed 2. Players will then construct a 45 card deck and play in a 3+ Swiss round tournament with prize packs based on attendance. In addition to prize packs the following prizes will be awarded:

1st place - 1 foil dual threshold resource: a micromajig token and a random foil rare.

2nd place – 1 foil dual threshold resource and a random foil rare.

Aside from 1st and 2nd place, two additional players will receive a random foil rare.

 

5pm – Spoils Open Constructed Tournament - $10

Registration from 4:30 pm – 4:50 pm. Play begins at 12:00 pm.

Bring your own 75 card minimum constructed deck (or borrow one of ours if you want to try something different – first come, first serve) to test your skill in The Spoils. In addition to prize packs the following prizes will be awarded:

Registration runs 11 am – 11:50 am. Play begins at Noon.

Players do not need to bring cards for this event.

All participants will be given a random 75 card, pre-constructed, mono-trade deck with cards from Seed and Seed 2 to compete in this tournament. This event is perfect for new players who want to explore the possibilities of the constructed environment in The Spoils with a level playing field. In addition to prize packs the following prizes will be awarded:

1st place - 1 foil dual threshold resource; a micromajig token and a random foil rare.

2nd place – 1 foil dual threshold resource and a random foil rare.

Aside from 1st and 2nd place, two additional players will receive a random foil rare.

 

6pm – Spoils MegaCon Limited Championship - $15 (Seed/Seed 2)

Registration from 5 pm – 5:45 pm. Play begins at 6 pm.

Think you can build the best deck out of 5 boosters packs? Come and prove it!

Players will open 3 packs of Seed and 2 packs of Seed 2. Then they will construct a 45 card (minimum) deck from the cards they open. In addition to prize packs the following prizes will be awarded:

1st place - 1 foil dual threshold resource; a micromajig token and a random foil rare.

2nd place - 1 foil dual threshold resource and a random foil rare.

Prize packs will be based on participation for each event:

4-8 players – Packs will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place.

9-12 players – Packs will be awarded to 1st through 3rd place.

13-16 players – Packs will be awarded to 1st through 4th place.

Space

Maximum guaranteed table space for a given event is 16 seats.

Space for pick-up games may be limited during scheduled events. Please check with the tournament organizer to inquire about space for pick-up games when scheduled events are in progress. We will do our best to accommodate all players within the limitations present.

INTERPLANETARY - THE MAGELLAN INCIDENT



$15 per person

Join the MindGame Productions (TerrorWerks) crew again in 2012 for the next installment of the USMSC Live Experience. Dive into a live action first-person shooter in the military science fiction setting of INTERPLANETARY as you're provided a helmet, tactical vest, automatic weapon, magazines and enter a close-quarter battle scenario with your fellow marines!

At 2317 Zulu the USS Magellan, a naval research vessel operating in deep space, transmitted a distress call stating she was under attack by an unknown enemy force. Regional Fleet HQ dispatched the cruiser USS Ticonderoga with a platoon from from the 166th Marine Strike Team to retake the Magellan. Marines, your mission is to board the Magellan and locate/rescue and surviving crew members, reach the bridge and download all navigation and sensor logs, locate the main science lab and recover all research data, wipe out all remaining hostiles. If unable to regain control of the Magellan, your team can either set the ships self-destruct or fall back to the Ticonderoga and destroy the Magellan with Mk 106 Firefly torpedoes.

  • 1st Place: wins 5 booster packs.

Using the cards they draft they then construct a 40 card minimum deck and play in a single-elimination sanctioned tournament against each other.  Players keep the cards that they collect during the booster draft. The format is Modern Constructed Magic: The Gathering and the tournament will be sanctioned with Planeswalker Points.  Players play in a 3+ round Swiss tournament with payout based on standings. Promos and booster packs paid out as prizes based on attendance. Check with Tournament Organizer for exact product makeup and prize payout on day of event. At least three Planeswalker Points are awarded for playing in this match.
 
2:00 PM - MTG Dark Ascension Booster Draft - $15 
Registration from 1 pm – 1:45 pm. Play begins at 2:00 pm.
Players will booster draft in pods of 8 or less with three booster packs each of Dark Ascension and Innistrad cards. Using the cards they draft they then construct a 40 card minimum deck and play in a on large 3+ round Swiss sanctioned tournament against each other.  Players keep the cards that they collect during the booster draft. Prizes are paid out in booster packs and promos based on attendance after the end of the last round. Check with Tournament Organizer for exact product makeup and prize payout on day of event. At least three Planeswalker Points are awarded for playing in this match.
 
4:00 PM - Magic: The Gathering Commander Pods Begin - $5 
Registration from 3 pm – 4:45 pm. Play begins as soon as a pod fills up after 4:00 pm.
Players will play in Grand Melee Commander pods of 6 or less. The format of the event is Sanctioned Casual Commander with last man standing determining the winner of the pod. Multiple pods will start as they fill up. Prizes are paid out at a rate of 1 pack per player. Last two people alive in the pod win booster packs based on attendance. Check with Tournament Organizer for exact product makeup and prize payout on day of event.  One Planeswalker Point is awarded for playing in this match.
 
6:00 PM – Friday Night Magic Standard Constructed Tournament - $10 
Registration from 5 pm – 5:45 pm. Play begins at 6:00 pm. Hall closes at 11:30 pm.
Compete against other players with your own 60-card minimum deck. The format is Standard Constructed Magic: The Gathering and the tournament will be sanctioned.  Players play in a 3-5 round Swiss tournament with payout based on standings after the final round. Bring a friend and start your day right by winning a movie night for 2.
First place team wins movie gift cards. Additional booster pack prizes based on attendance. Each Team receives 8 booster packs of Dark Ascension and Innistrad  to split and make 2 forty card minimum decks with. Then players compete in one game matches with other teams of two in a single elimination sanctioned tournament. Last team standing wins. You keep the product you are given with the tournament. 12:00 PM MTG Standard Constructed Tournament  - $10

The format is Standard Constructed Magic: The Gathering and the tournament will be sanctioned.  Players play in a 3-5 round Swiss tournament with payout based on standings after the final round. The SuperCon 2K Series is the place to be for all gamers to explorer all the aspects of the gaming industry and beyond. The SuperCon 2K Series travels to multiple locations across the nation, providing a home for gamers to meet other gamers, make new friends, play casual games, learn about the gaming industry reach to a variety of genre’s which includes anime, sci-fi and participate in tournament games to win the title of the most proven player in the nation.

For the casual gamer there are multiple game set-ups, free giveaways, opportunities to meet local or national talent involved in the video game industry or related industries and of course to participate in fun casual games. You also have the ability to participate in a variety of workshop and panels that relate to gaming, anime, sci-fi and more.

For the hardcore gamer there are tournament events in the most popular video games out today. In addition, national rankings are awarded to each competitor at every SuperCon 2K Series event. Players who compete in multiple SuperCon 2K Series of events will have the opportunity to be crowned the National Champion of the Series. This is the champion who has proven their ability among the nation’s best players around the nation. Each event, both online and offline is refereed by experienced staff so when you win here it is real.

For all gamers, the SuperCon 2K Series is typically held in conjunction with other large conferences that have some tie-in or cross-over into the video game industry. So you will find additional fun with the anime conventions, comic conventions, car conventions and more.
